Cultural Initiatives in North Africa and the Middle East
B7L9 Art Station is an experimental art space imagined and developed by the KLF in Bahr Lazreg, a rural area of La Marsa. Bahr Lazreg is phonetically written Ba7r Lazre9, hence the name B7L9.
Opened on March 16, 2019, B7L9 is the first art station in Tunis to offer a comprehensive annual program of artistic and cultural events accessible to all, free of charge. This first permanent KLF venue seeks to integrate the foundation's activities, while serving as an instigator for international and local exchanges.
This space is conceived as a laboratory enabling the foundation to connect, interact, develop its activities and trigger a regional dialogue with contemporary global institutions and actors in the field of visual culture. While anchored in the Mediterranean and international artistic landscape, B7L9 responds to KLF's commitment to create social impact in disadvantaged areas through art and culture. It also aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and visions by encouraging guest artists to interact with local communities through workshops, seminars and events, as well as an extensive free public programme.
B7L9 Art Station is a non-profit, friendly art space open to interdisciplinary dialogue, frequented by local and international artists, curators, critics, thinkers, and art lovers
This independent art station, offers to the different actors and particularly to the artists a favourable place allowing them to:
- Develop their practice
- Conduct research on various artistic themes
- Explore new ideas and concepts
- Create networks to exchange, collaborate and reach out to a wider audience
