Presentation of the project :
“يوميات محجور” comes as an extension of our artistic project TOONS el 5athra (Tunisia, The Green), whereby we work on presenting 1 to 5-minute videos, depending on the suggested idea, which basically centers around the Tunisian citizens and their relationship with the status quo and most social, political and economic shifts since 2011. If we put this project under the light of the current sanitary conjuncture the country is facing, amidst the outbreak of New Corona Virus, and match it to the response of the Tunisian citizen, who found him/herself in an unprecedented situation with no clue whatsoever, we can delve into a comical perspective to shed some light on several situations and attitudes that run parallel to the daily lives of Tunisians, and permeate all aspects of life starting with family, psychology, society, culture, economy and even politics. Our main purpose is to diffuse positive energy and raise awareness through constructive criticism, all set against the backdrop of a comical approach steeped in derision. Coupled with this amusing playfulness, our ultimate message boils down to an urge to ruminate on the current situation from a novel, creative angle we have been crafting for so long, in an endeavour to present our ideas and aspiration in a new fashion and with a unique flair, aloof from old-established clichés and cheap vulgar taste.
Project distribution :
Project marketing will be done on social media (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) through uploading 3 weekly episodes on average during quarantine, and then carry on the project after quarantine with one weekly episode that tackles the daily situation Tunisians encounter in an artistic and aesthetic fashion premised on black humour and derision, among other parody tools.
