X-100 is the new project by German Tunisian artist ben* and his Berlin-based production partner Àbáse.
The project was born after an improvised live studio session with Daru Jones, jamming for hours over J DILLA–inspired beats.
Half a year later, they launched THE STEM SESSIONS, using the early SERATO STEMS BETA to reimagine songs live. During a tribute session for Bob Marley and J Dilla, Australian multi-instrumentalist NIKODEMUS joined them, and their first single CONCRETE FEVER was recorded in one take.
Over the next three years, they toured with Detroit legends PHAT KAT, GUILTY SIMPSON & ELZHI, and recordings from these sessions led to a new crew, THE CBDs, now working on their debut LP.
On Malcolm X’s 100th birthday, they produced new material in La Marsa, Tunisia, and officially adopted the name X-100. Starting in 2026, they will release 10 different 10-inch records.
This December, X-100 brings THE STEM SESSIONS to La Marsa & Carthage, celebrating ben*’s new home and studio in Tunisia.
Join us for a night of live experimentation and unique sonic energy.
