Lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

He earned his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2001 and an MFA from Columbia University in New York City in 2003. Aram’s practice encompasses painting, collage, drawing, and installation, and utilises this diverse media to critically engage with the history of art, in particular the relationship between the practices of non-Western art and Western modernism. He has exhibited widely and internationally in solo and group shows, most recently Ancient Blue Ornament at Atlanta Contemporary (Atlanta, Georgia), FOCUS: Kamrooz Aram at The Modern (Fort Worth, Texas), and An Object, A Gesture, A Décor at FLAG Art Foundation (New York City, New York).
